Jody Becker joined EllisDon in 2007 and was promoted to the role of Senior Vice President and General Counsel to the EllisDon group of companies. Jody has been primarily responsible for all of the legal aspects of EllisDon’s business, particularly in relation to the development of projects in the Alternative Financing and Procurement/Public-Private Partnerships (“AFP/P3”) market. She has been a key member of the EllisDon project team for AFP/P3 bids and has been instrumental in achieving commercial and financial close on numerous successful projects valued at nearly $6 billion.
In her current role as Senior Vice President, Emerging Markets and Chief Strategy Officer, Jody oversees strategic planning for EllisDon and works directly with internal and external stakeholders to develop execution plans for these strategies. She is also responsible for leading EllisDon’s International Division, as well as overseeing the Marketing and Communications Department and Sustainable Building Services group.
Jody remains an active member in the Ontario Bar Association, Construction Law Executive, and a co-founder of the Construction Sector In-house Counsel Forum and was a recipient of the Canadian General Counsel Association’s award for “Tomorrow’s Leader”. She also regularly writes and presents papers on infrastructure, project finance and construction law to professional and trade organizations. Prior to joining EllisDon, Jody was previously in private practice with a successful construction law boutique, where she represented domestic and international clients in the construction industry.
